Construction of new solar parks requires precise topographic data of the area to allow for optimal design and installation of the panels. Available satellite data have a low resolution ranging from a few meters to tens of meters, not allowing to reveal small variations of the topography in the construction area. Drones, however, can capture resolution up to a few mm and are the solution. Since Svea Solar is based in Sweden and has limited knowledge of the drone regulations in Cyprus, Crowddroning by GLOBHE rapidly sent a local pilot to capture the data, and sent all results to Svea Solar in record time, allowing them to save a substantial amount of money by using accurate data, local resources, and speeding up processes.
